Don’t wait until the upcoming long weekend for a little neighborhood fun! With everything from improv to hidden gems of Green-Wood, South Slope is definitely the place to be through Wednesday.

Shape Up NYC: Couch To 5k
When: Monday, June 30, 7pm
Where: Meets in Prospect Park on the porch of Lefferts Historic House
What: Doesn’t our gorgeous Monday just make you want to lace up those sneakers, and take your fitness dreams to the next level in Prospect Park? This weekly jog combines group running, walking, and conditioning exercises to get you in shape for long distance running.
How much: Free.

Semi-Free
When: Tuesday, July 1, 7pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street at 6th Avenue
What: Janine Nichols’ guitar and violin trio delights the crowd at Barbes on Tuesday with their music “influenced by jazz, early ’70s singer-songwriters, and late ’70s NYC underground.”
How much: $10 suggested donation.

JANET Comedy Improv
When: Wednesday, July 2, 7-8:30pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: Ready to get silly? It’s improv jam night at Freddy’s. Players of all levels are welcome.
How much: Free.

Hidden Gems Of Green-Wood
When: Wednesday, July 2, 1-3pm
Where: Green-Wood Cemetery, 5th Avenue and 23rd Street
What: Kick back in a seat on the Green-Wood trolley, and get to know some of the cemetery’s off the beaten path residents.
How much: Tickets, which can be purchased here, are $10 for Green-Wood members/$15 for non-members.
