Don’t wait until the weekend for a little neighborhood fun! Here’s a few of the events that are taking place in our area through Wednesday:

Fireworks Near Liberty Island
When: Monday, January 27, 8:40pm
Where: NY Harbor
What: Have a great view of Lady Liberty? There is a fireworks display planned in the harbor tonight to celebrate this weekend’s Super Bowl. If Mother Nature sends wet weather our way, the show will be rescheduled for Tuesday at 8:40pm
How much: Free!

Trivia Armageddon
When: Tuesday, January 28, 8pm to 9:30pm
Where: Black Horse Pub, 568 5th Avenue at 16th Street
What: Brooklyn Comics and More may be gone, but former owner Gary Esposito is back at the Black Horse Pub on Tuesday with Trivia Armageddon. Teams of up to six players can geek out to four rounds of some of the nerdiest trivia in the borough. Cash, bar tabs, and gift certificates are waiting for the best of the best!
How much: $2 Buy-in

Comedy Open Mic Night
When: Wednesday, January 29, 6pm
Where: The Fifth Estate, 506 5th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets
What: It might feel downright balmy outside today, but don’t get used to it, because we’ve got another arctic front barreling down on the city. The Fifth Estate is at the ready, though, with a warm bar, open mic comedy, and lots of laughs to help thaw all of our frozen tears.
How much: No cover.
