Luna Park’s skydiving ride, Boardwalk Flight, may have been dismantled, but we will soon be able to fly across Coney Island once again.

Trapeze School New York will be joining Coney Art Walls and Smorgasburg in Coney Island this weekend, Thor Equities has announced. The world-class flying trapeze and aerial arts school will be open seven days a week throughout the summer.

“We are thrilled to be opening in Coney Island. We cannot imagine a more wonderful home for this amazing activity,” said Anne Brown, president and co-founder of Trapeze School New York, in a statement. “Sign up for a class, or come by to watch. You will definitely be inspired and entertained, whether you are flying through the air or cheering from the ground.”

Debuting on Friday, July 3, at Stillwell Avenue and Wonder Wheel Way in Coney Island, Trapeze School New York will offer classes for kids and adults, ages 6 and up. Lessons are available for all skill levels, from first-time flyers to advanced aviators, and can be reserved for parties and bulk-class discounted packages.

“We are excited to welcome Trapeze School New York to Coney Island,” Joseph Sitt, CEO of Thor Equities, said in a statement. “With the Boardwalk’s history as a world famous amusement destination, the school along with Coney Art Walls and Smorgasburg is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.”

Biederman Redevelopment Ventures is working with Thor Equities to implement additional programming, events and other amenities in Coney Island throughout the summer, as well as providing its expertise in urban management made famous at outdoor spaces like Bryant Park in Manhattan.

Coney Art Walls is a new outdoor museum curated by Jeffrey Deitch and Joseph Sitt, who have gathered some of the most prominent street artists in the world to create more than 30 wall murals. Among the renowned artists participating in the project are Crash, Futura, Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Miss Van, ROA, and Lady Pink.

Coney Smorgasburg currently features 12 different food vendors including Mofongo, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Mile End, La Newyorkina, and Excell Kingston Eatery. There is also an open bar serving craft beer, wine, and other drinks, as well as a music stage featuring live performances throughout the summer.

A 13th vendor, gourmet lemonade concessionaire Lizzmonade will also be opening on July 3, in the same location, directly across from Coney Art Walls.
