Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the person who has been snatching elderly women’s purses and assaulting two of them, in the Kings Highway area for the past month.

The delinquent started this bag-grabbing on Kings Highway on Wednesday, September 21, at around 8:53am when he pushed a 67-year-old woman from behind and took her bag. The woman sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention, according to police. The bag contained about $200.

He fled northbound on Coney Island Avenue, according to police.

He struck again on Sunday, October 9, just around the corner from the first incident at 1724 E 12 St. The victim, a 62-year-old woman, was exiting the building when the burglar came up to her side and took her purse. The purse contained $420, and credit cards, according to police.

He ran north on E 12 Street towards Kings Highway. The victim did not sustain any injuries from the incident, according to police.

A few days later, and a few block east down Kings Highway, he did the same thing a third time, according to police. On Wednesday, October 12, and around 4pm, a 64-year-old woman was leaving the Apple Bank at 1730 Kings Highway when the low-life came up to her from behind, pushed her up against a parked van, and took her purse.

The purse had about $700 in it, according to police. The victim refused medical attention.

The last time that he struck, at least as far as we know, was on Monday, October 17 at around 7pm. His victim was a 70-year-old woman who was walking eastbound down Kings Highway. He came at her from behind, took her purse, and continued to run eastbound down Kings Highway and onto E 18 Street, according to police.

The purse had $300, and credit cards in it. Thankfully, no injuries were sustained during the robbery, according to police.

The sleazeball is wanted for questioning by police, and is described as being a white or Hispanic male, last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans, and dark colored sneakers, according to police.

A surveillance camera from the third incident photographed (above) the burglar at 1797 E 14 St.
