Snack Break: Pearl Gate Frozen Yogurt

Snack Break: Pearl Gate Frozen Yogurt

This warmer weather had us craving something frozen and sweet, so we made our way to Pearl Gate Frozen Yogurt (482 5th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets) for a little snack.

The self-serve shop features 16 flavors that change on a weekly basis. All you have to do is choose your cup and start filling it up. We couldn’t settle on just one, so we mixed a little chocolate and peanut butter (because chocolate and peanut butter is the the greatest combination known to man), and moved on to the toppings.

The toppings bar has everything from fresh fruit (which really is amazingly fresh) and nuts to M&Ms and gummy bears. We went with strawberries, granola, and coconut (so that we could at least pretend the giant pile of frozen yogurt in front of us was healthy).

The yogurt is priced by weight (.49 cents an ounce), but our giant bowl (plus a smaller preschool size serving) only totaled $7.69, which isn’t too shabby.

Pearl Gate Frozen Yogurt is open Monday through Sunday, 11am to 11pm. There is ample seating, free wifi, and credit cards are accepted (with a minimum purchase of $5).
