Snack Attack: Brooklyn Blackout Cupcake From Ladybird Bakery
We realized early on that Wednesday was going to be one of those ‘I want a redo’ type of days. By 3pm, there was no question that a treat was in order.
Enter Ladybird Bakery (1112 8th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets) and their Brooklyn Blackout Cupcake ($4). We’re talking major chocolate therapy here, folks. You’ve got a moist chocolate cake, filled with chocolate pudding, topped with a fudge frosting, and sprinkled with chocolate crumbs.
We’ll pause for a moment so you can wipe away the drool that is suddenly dripping down your chin.
You’ll definitely want to attack this bad boy with a fork, as it can get pretty messy. A tall glass of cold milk isn’t a bad idea either.
Ladybird Bakery (718-499-8108) is open Mondays through Fridays, 7am to 7pm, Saturdays, 8am to 7pm, and Sundays, 8am to 5pm. Credit cards are accepted, but note that there is a $10 minimum.
