Cops have released a sketch and surveillance footage of the suspect accused of grabbing an 11-year-old on her way home from school earlier this week.
The girl was walking near Highlawn Avenue and West 7th Street at around 2:50pm Wednesday, when she was approached by a man who grabbed her shoulder and school bag, according to the NYPD. The man told the girl to come with him, but she fought him off and he ran away.
The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket, a black hoodie, grey sweatpants, and black sneakers. The sketch and footage released by the NYPD shows a man with dark hair, a sharp jawline, and a mustache.
Local parents are still rattled by another attempted kidnapping that recently occurred within the NYPD’s 62nd Precinct. Last week, cops arrested a 51-year-old woman who they say tried to snatch a toddler in front the child’s mother on 80th Street.
