We recently passed by Shinju Sushi III (75 5th Avenue, between Prospect and St Marks Places) and noticed the signage has been changed to Hiroto Japanese Restaurant.

The owner could not be reached for comment and several employees answering the phone were unable to clarify if the restaurant had recently changed ownership, or if they’ve just changed the name of the business.

Recent reviews of Shinju on Yelp have been mixed, with one reviewer wondering if an apparent change in quality was due to the usual sushi chef being on vacation.
