The L Magazine named Park Slope the second-most livable neighborhood in Brooklyn, but second-most livable doesn’t seem to be livable enough for Patriots coach Bill Belichick — according to the New York Observer, he just sold his 6th Street townhouse for 2.75 million. And he’s leaving just as Royal Palms Shuffleboard Parlor gets the okay from CB6! I bet that guy is kicking himself now.

Meanwhile, the New Inquiry celebrates the life and times of William Hamilton Gibson, naturalist and savior of Prospect Park. Without him, our lives would be significantly worse, and not just because we wouldn’t have events like Leda Meredith’s “Wild Edible Plant and Mushroom Hunt,” which Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn notes is coming up on Oct. 7th. At the very least, it’s a welcome alternative to Subway — HPS reports the Slope’s second outpost of the definitely-not-locovore sandwich chain is set to open next week.
