School Cancellations, Transit Changes & More Weather Updates
Snow plow 14th Street

A few updates on the snow, as it continues to pile around us:

• As per the DOE, all after school programs are cancelled for today, though no statements have been made about school tomorrow.

• Today’s alternate side parking suspension has been extended into tomorrow to help facilitate snow removal, although meters remain in effect.

• You can see if your street has been plowed remotely via PlowNYC.

• Keep up with any weather-related public transit changes by following@NYCTSubwayScoop.

• Keep safe and warm via tips linked here–and if you have elderly neighbors or neighbors with health issues, please check in on them and be generous with your shoveling abilities!

• If you’re out and about, enjoy a warm beverage at one of our local haunts, or just stay indoors and catch up on your latest Netflix obsession (we’ve recently discovered Parenthood and have been on a Braverman binge). When things calm down, get ready to hit the slopes on some of the best sledding spots in Prospect Park.

Temperatures have already dropped into the teens, and The National Weather Service says the heaviest snow is still to come, so bundle up if you’re on the streets this afternoon. We’ll keep you posted on any additional closings for Wednesday as they’re announced.
