SBA Extends Deadline For Loan Applications

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has recently extended the deadline for Superstorm Sandy victims to return their low-interest loan applications to February 27, according to a press release.

The SBA also announced the opening of a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Brooklyn. The center’s purpose is to provide one-on-one assistance to renters, homeowners and businesses looking for disaster relief from losses suffered from Sandy. Here are the relevant details:

Opened:    Monday, Jan. 28 at 8 a.m.
Hours:       Monday – Saturday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Survivors may also apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website or visit one of the local recovery centers for one-on-one assistance.

To be considered for all forms of disaster assistance, applicants should register online or by mobile device. If online or mobile access is unavailable, applicants should call the FEMA toll-free helpline at (800) 621-3362. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services should call 800-621-3362.
