Hosted by the Park Slope Civic Council, funds raised from ticket sales will benefit the organization’s 2019 grants which go towards community arts, education, and improvement projects.

Attendees will start off at the Poly Prep Lower School located at 50 Prospect Park West (at 1st Street) where they can pick up their tickets, an illustrated brochure providing information on the history and interior of each of the homes, as well as shoe covers (shoes must be removed inside the homes or shoes covers must be worn).

After the tour, ticket-holders are invited to attend a lecture by local architect-historian Francis Morrone.

Among some of the homes included in this year’s tour are a 1911 house designed by the Brooklyn architectural firm Chappell & Bosworth; a modernized 1899 house featuring a gas fireplace, restored central staircase, and oak flooring; a Renaissance Revival featuring the master bath’s original washstand and marble counters, wainscoting, and floor; a 1907-1908 owner-built Neoclassical townhouse by Eli Bishop showcasing Victorian furnishings and tapestries from 1888; and a contemporary gut-renovated 1886 neo-Grec home.

Also included in the tour is a peek inside the exclusive Montauk Club which has operated as a members-only club since 1891. Designed by the New York architect Francis H. Kimball, the Venetian Gothic palazzo boasts stained glass windows, mahogany woodwork, and an ornate façade.
