The Raymour & Flanigan at 2544 Flatbush Ave is planning a big move to the other side of Avenue V, according to New York YImby.

The furniture store, which is based out of upstate New York, just filed for applications for the two-story, 55,300-square-foot commercial retail building at 2570 Flatbush Avenue — directly across from the Kings Plaza Shopping Mall.

S9 Architecture is the architecture group that will be handling this project. They might sound familiar to you because they’re also the architects behind the shopping center that is accompanying the 42-story tower in Coney Island.

The new Raymour & Flanigan will take up most of the block that is bound by Flatbush Avenue, Avenue V, Hendrickson Place and Hendrickson Street, according to Yimby.

A few of the single story commercial properties at the location must be demolished before the furniture store can be built there. What is currently on the property is a Midas auto body shop, Parkside Memorial Chapels Inc., two other furniture stores, and a Sam Ash music store.

It is likely that Raymour & Flanigan will vacate their current location when they move into the new one, according to Yimby.
