Propellerhead, a new restaurant and bar expected to open at the end of May, is looking to hire two chefs as soon as possible.

The new culinary addition to Coney Island Avenue (at Cortelyou Road) is seeking candidates who either have extensive line chef experience, or moderate sous chef experience, and who are looking for a step-up in their career.

“We don’t have an executive chef — it’s sort of a different model,” said Manager Ian Stickland. “We are looking for multiple executive chefs.”

Stickland, and his co-manager Britney Achlin, are also hiring four bartenders, for full and part-time shifts.

The restaurant will offer profit sharing and aspires to create a “relaxed kitchen environment,” he told us.

Propellerhead will serve “elevated American” cuisine, and was recently approved for a liquor license, Stickland said.

Some of the core menu items include burgers, a buffalo chicken sandwich, an array of savory pies, Cobb salad, pulled pork, purple yam gnocchi, and Propellerhead’s special home-made pop tarts — both savory and sweet.

Work began on Propellerhead’s Coney Island Avenue location last year. The silent financial partner behind the project is real estate investor Paul-Gabriel Wiener, of New Jersey. Anyone interested in applying can drop by the store at 752 Coney Island Avenue.
