Police Seek Suspect in Bank Robberies on Flatbush Ave and Newkirk Plaza

Two local banks were robbed within hours of each other one day last month, and now the police are looking for help in identifying and locating the suspect.

Police say the suspect entered the two banks and passed a note to the teller demanding money. There were no injuries.

Incident 1: Monday, May 21 at 9:06am, the suspect entered the HSBC 815 Flatbush Ave (at Caton) and fled without any cash.

Incident 2: Monday, May 21 at 2:40pm, the suspect entered the Sovereign at 23 Newkirk Plaza and took off with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 6’0″ to 6’3″ and about 240-260 pounds, with a goatee. The suspect was wearing clear plastic gloves during both incidents.
