Police After Thief Who Stole Woman’s Purse & Cash On East 8th Street [Video]

A purse snatching thief in Sheepshead Bay took a woman’s cash then fled the scene last Friday afternoon, police said

An unknown man approached a 42-year-old woman, opposite 1708 East 8th Street, on July 22 at 3:05pm, and shouted, “Give me your money! Give me your purse or I’ll hurt you!” at her, police said. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s purse, which contained $150, before fleeing southbound on 8th Street, cops said.

Surveillance footage shows the shirtless man wearing gray shorts and white sneakers while carrying the woman’s purse in one hand and a black shirt over his shoulder.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, with short straight black hair and tattoos on his right arm and chest. The man was last seen wearing gray shorts, a black shirt, and white sneakers, cops said.

Police said there were no reported injuries and the investigation is still ongoing.
