Police Searching For ATM Robber In Prospect Heights

A robber is on the run after he stole several iPads and an ATM holding large amounts of cash from a Prospect Heights restaurant last Thursday morning, police said.

An unidentified man broke into Zaytoons Restaurant (594 Vanderbilt Avenue) on August 11, at about 3:30 a.m., by bashing the door open and removed three iPads and an ATM containing $13,000 in cash, police sources said.

Then, the suspect fled from the restaurant to parts unknown, cops said.

Cops identify the robber as a black man who was last seen wearing a t-shirt with the letters “RESPEK” in front of it, white sneakers, and carrying a book bag on his back.

Police say they are hunting down the suspect, and the investigation is still ongoing.
