Police Identify Woman Shot In The Head At Walt Whitman Houses

Police have identified a woman who was shot and killed at the Walt Whitman Houses last Thursday, as 26-year-old Coral O’Brien from Los Lunas, New Mexico.

When police found her, responding to a call at 56 North Oxford Walk just after midnight on July 21, she was unconscious and unresponsive.

She had been shot once in the head, once in the leg, and once in the arm and was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS responders, police say.

The woman was adorned with many tattoos, according to NYPD photos, including a shamrock on her left calf, stars on her right ankle, flames and mushrooms on her left forearm, “CJ” on her back, and “Johnathan” and “Cerenity” on her chest.

The family of the deceased has been notified, according to police reports.
