Police Discover Skeletal Remains In 15th Avenue Home
After responding to a 911 call about a foul odor inside an apartment on 15th Avenue near 47th Street, police from the 66th Precinct walked into an apartment where they discovered a 28-year-old woman and skeletal remains of a person yet to be identified, the NYPD said.
From the NYPD’s statement sent to the media:
Upon arrival, officers observed the apartment to be in disarray, filled with garbage and refuse, and encountered a 28-year-old female who made statements that she wanted to harm herself. EMS responded to the location and transported the female to Maimonides Hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Upon further investigation, police discovered the skeletal remains of an unidentified individual inside of the apartment.
The city Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the police investigation is ongoing. We’ll let you know when we hear anything else.
