Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this week? From bird watching to a celebration of Hello Kitty to the silly fun of a physical comedy troupe, there’s plenty to enjoy in the area — and all free! Details on those and other kid-friendly events in our area:

Babies & Books
When: Wednesday, November 5, 10am & 10:30am
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids ages birth to 18 months and their guardians can enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes.
How much: Free, but you must pick up a ticket the morning of the program at the Children’s reference desk.

Kings Bay Y Rock With Adam
When: Wednesday, November 5, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Are you ready to rock? Neighborhood kids are definitely in for a treat as guitarist Adam Blotner plays some of his favorite tunes.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), so be sure to arrive early to score yours.

Hello Kitty Reading Day Party
When: Thursday, November 6, 4pm
Where: Central Library, Youth Wing, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Kids ages 6-12 are invited to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 40th anniversary with activities and stories.
How much: Free!

Storytime
When: Friday, November 7, 10am
Where: Postmark Cafe, 326 6th Avenue
What: A weekly storytime has returned to Postmark! Stop by every Friday for some free fun.
How much: Free, but there’s only space for 20 kids, so arrive early to ensure your spot.

Family Bird Watching Tour
When: Saturday, November 8, 10am
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Geared towards families with children ages 8 and older, the Prospect Park Alliance will help young naturalists learn how to observe and identify some of the 200 species of birds that pass through Prospect Park or make it their home.
How much: Free!

Paddington Bear Storytime
When: Saturday, November 8, 2pm
Where: Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue
What: A storytime with activities centered around that lovable bear in a coat and hat.
How much: Free!

Parallel Exit
When: Saturday, November 8, 4pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: Expect flips, trip, and laughs from the family-friendly physical comedy and theater troupe Parallel Exit, which blends a 21st century sensibility with the whimsy of yesteryear.
How much: Free!

Nature Playtime
When: Sunday, November 9, 1pm
Where: Zucker Natural Exploration Area, Prospect Park
What: Fun, safe, and creative ways for your family to explore and play in nature together. Guides will lead seasonal nature play activities in outdoor locations around Prospect Park and the Prospect Park Zoo, and participating families will receive a Nature Playtime! Park Guide to help inspire more nature play.
How much: Free!
