Pink Donation Bins Appear Overnight, But DSNY Is On The Case
Night pink bin drop off

On Tuesday night, we spotted a large Enterprise commercial truck blocking the crosswalk on the corner of 14th Street and 5th Avenue. Several men were in the process of dropping off one of the illegal donation bins that have been plaguing the city, so we approached them to try and get more information about the company behind the bins.

Of course they refused to talk, quickly closed up the truck, and drove away.

It looks like the Department of Sanitation might be stepping up their game, though, because less than 24 hours after our encounter with the drop off team, the bin was tagged for removal, and had a giant sticker placed over the door, preventing neighbors from placing their clothing inside.

14th Street has been flooded with the pink monstrosities this summer, and despite being burned or removed, they always find their way back. What other blocks have been repeatedly targeted? Have you noticed any change in the number of bins around the neighborhood?
