A small boat ran aground on the private beach of Kingsborough Community College this afternoon, leading to a heavy police response including helicopters and a marine vessel searching the waters to see if a person had fallen overboard.
It’s unclear why the boat was drifting in the waters, or if anyone was aboard at the time. Shortly before 2:30, however, a call went over police frequencies indicating marine units and helicopters were checking both the Sheepshead Bay side and ocean side of Manhattan Beach, searching for a possible person in the waters.
