A group of local kids and their parents will be leading a Sunday morning peace march in the aftermath of the deaths of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and five police officers in Dallas.

The march is scheduled for 10 am tomorrow, July 10, at the Prison Ship Martyr’s Monument in Fort Greene Park.“It’s a way for kids to march peacefully,” said Cynthia McKnight, former co-president of the P.S. 11 PTA in Clinton Hill, who said the event is being led by local parents and children. McKnight stressed that this is a community event, not sponsored by any organization. The planned route is through Fort Greene Park, then along South Portland Avenue to the Barclays Center.“There are rallies and gatherings for adults around New York and we would like to keep this one centered around the children and families allowing them to have an opportunity to express themselves,” says the event’s Facebook page.
