Park Slope’s Mallory Hagan Named Miss New York

Park Sloper by way of Alabama, Fashion Institute of Technology junior and longtime pageant queen Mallory Hagan took the Miss New York title this weekend. Hagan, 23, used her “punishing one-two combo of tap-dancing prowess and general agreeability” to beat out 25 other Empire State beauties for top honors, a $10,000 scholarship, and the chance to represent New York at January’s Miss America pageant in January. Between now and then, she’ll be using her platform to tour the state raising awareness about child sex abuse, her Miss New York issue of choice.
