Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday, November 28 — but even with more than two weeks to go, pre-orders for turkeys are well underway. If you’re looking for the perfect bird for your family meal, we’ve rounded up some options:

DiPaola Turkey Farm
Where: Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, pick up Saturday, November 23
What: Turkeys are ordered by size category as follows: 12-14, 15-17, 18-20, 21-23, 24-26, 27- 29, and 30+ pounds. They will also take orders for bone-in turkey breasts: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 10+ pounds.
Bonus: If you forget any of your meal’s fixings, the GAP Greenmarket will be open a bonus day, on Wednesday, November 27.
Order: At the market this Saturday, November 16, or call 609-587-9311 or email dipaolaturkey@gmail.com.

Fleisher’s
Where: 192 5th Avenue, pick up Monday-Wednesday the week of Thanksgiving
What: Now taking orders for a limited supply of pasture-raised, no-hormone, no-antibiotic heritage turkeys on a first-come, first-serve basis — if you’re interested, don’t delay, they tend to sell out fast, particularly on smaller sizes.
Bonus: They’ve also got meaty accoutrements like brining mix, sage sausage for stuffing, thermometers, turkey stock, and more.
Order: Call Mona at 845-338-MOOO (6666) and press 8; if she’s taking another order, leave a message, she’ll call you back. Or fill out this form and bring it to the shop.

Park Slope Food Coop
Where: 192 5th Avenue, pick up starting November 19 through Thanksgiving
What: They note that every fresh turkey they sell is slaughtered on approximately the same day, so waiting doesn’t get you a fresher bird. The small sizes go especially fast, so plan ahead by checking their list of turkey purveyor arrivals.
Bonus: Yes, you have to be a member to score one of these birds, and yes it will get crazy closer to the holiday, but the Coop’s newsletter has some tips on making the experience less stressful. Also, they’ll be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8am-2:30pm.
Order: No advance ordering, no turkey reservations. All turkeys are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Union Market
Where: 754 Union Street & 402 7th Avenue, orders must be placed by Friday, November 22
What: With several fresh varieties available from a few producers, this is a good option if you’re looking for a fancier bird than what might be available at the Key Food, but you don’t want to break the bank. Specific sizes are limited, so order soon if you want a smaller turkey; but they will have extras available to buy at the case if you don’t pre-order.
Bonus: They’ve got some tips on how to roast the perfect turkey.
Order: Call Union St at 718-230-5152 or 7th Ave at 718-499-4026, or stop into one of the stores.

The Walk-In Cookbook
Where: 72 7th Avenue, delivery available in Brooklyn on Tuesday, November 26 or Wednesday, November 27
What: If it’s your first Thanksgiving, the bird can be daunting. But this turkey with stuffing and mushroom gravy comes with all the ingredients you’ll need, plus recipe cards to guide you. All that for four will run you $60, with additional options for serving up to 12 people.
Bonus: Why stop at turkey? They have the same deal — ingredients, recipes — for side dishes, available to purchase either on their own or as part of the whole meal.
Order: Can be made online.
