Where: Various restaurants
What: Stop in for a bite to eat at Four & Twenty Blackbirds, 439 3rd Avenue; Santa Fe Grill, 62 7th Avenue; and Root Hill Cafe, 262 4th Avenue. See the full list of restaurants here, all of which will donate 10% of today’s proceeds to Bread and Life, a soup kitchen and emergency pantry.

The 5th Annual HalloMEME Costume Party
When: Thursday, October 24, 8:30pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: Everyone’s favorite internet meme costume party is back, with Pete & Pete as special guest judges to award lots of great prizes for the best of the craziest inspirations from the web.

Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art Benefit Sale
When: Friday, October 25, 6-9:30pm & Saturday October 26, 10:30am-4pm
Where: 20 Plaza Street East, at Grand Army Plaza
What: Find reasonably-priced folk art like funky hand-painted carved wood animals, woven tote bags, whimsical ceramics, gorgeous handwoven rugs, while also supporting Mexican artists through FOAF.
How much: $25 tax-deductible entrance fee on Friday; free on Saturday

Jazz and Brazilian Music with Kathryn Christie & Jeff Stein

Where: Cafe Dada, 57 7th Avenue
What: Jazz vocalist and Park Slope neighbor Kathryn Christie teams up with guitarist Jeff Stein for a night of jazz and Brazilian music. Jazz standards, bossa nova, and great food!

What: The popular author reads and discusses his latest collection of short stories, This is How You Lose Her, now in paperback.

WFMU TSP Live From Barbès

What: A live broadcast of the radio show will feature live music from Frank London & Deep Singh’s Sharabi, Mireya Ramos & Grupo Flor de Toloache, Uri Sharlin & Kinan Azmeh, and Diego Obregon & Grupo Chonta.

Schtick or Treat

What: The sixth annual Halloween tradition is a unique night of stand-up when more than 30 of NYC’s top comedians perform as their favorite comedy legends.
