Get Drunk, Help People
When: Thursday, December 19, 8pm-late
Where: Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue
What: If you were planning on having a drink out tonight, consider heading to Uncle Barry’s, where all tips collected will be donated to All Hands, and will specifically go toward their campaign to help those those displaced by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
How much: Free!

Lakeside Opens
When: Friday, December 20, 11am
Where: Prospect Park
What: The moment has finally arrived. Are your ice skates ready? Holiday hours through January 1 are: Monday through Thursday, 10am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 10pm, and Sunday, 9am to 8pm.
How much: Entry into the LeFrak Center, the cafe, and the restrooms is free. Skating is $6/person weekdays, $8/person weekends and holidays, and there is free admission (for children 12 and under) on Mondays from 3pm to 6pm (excluding holidays). Skate Rental is $5.

Make Music Winter: Blink
When: Saturday, December 20, 4:30pm
Where: Meet at Grand Army Plaza
What: Grab your bike and join a musical parade as it rolls through Prospect Park, following a score transmitted from the lead bike via a special helmet pre-programmed with lights that cue bicycle bells of different pitches.
How much: Free!

A Christmas Carol
When: Saturday, December 21 & Sunday, December 22, 8pm
Where: Brooklyn Lyceum, 227 4th Avenue
What: Get over the desire to say “bah humbug” by watching the classic 1951 film based on the beloved Charles Dickens tale.
How much: $5

Party Like It’s 1999: Titanic December Edition
When: Saturday, December 21, 10pm
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: They promise to celebrate the film, which came out on December 21, 1997, at this dance party, but swear they won’t play that Celine Dion song.
How much: Free!

Creaghead & Company
When: Sunday, December 21, 8pm (doors 7:30pm)
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: We have Caroline Creaghead to thank for some of the best Park Slope comedy. She’s helped create some truly hilarious shows working as a talent booker for Pretty Good Friends and producer of The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, and recently she’s taken over weekly Sunday comedy shows at here with her own endeavor, featuring a variety of terrific special guests.
