Park Slope Open House Picks: February 3

It’s another slow weekend in the open house world, but we’ve got a few locations offering private sanctuary in the middle of some busy hubs.

221 Fifth Avenue #4A at President Street
Open House: Sunday February 3, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
This two-bedroom apartment is being sold by the owner (no brokerage commissions will be paid, the owner warns) for $579,000 ($710 maintenance). The entire apartment has been freshly painted, and it is described as “well-maintained,” with hardwood floors throughout, a working wood-burning fireplace, exposed brick, bay windows with views of lower Manhattan, and plenty of storage space (including a wall of built-in shelves in one of the bedrooms). The building is pet-friendly and offer laundry and additional storage.

370 Ninth Street #2B at 6th Avenue
Open House: Sunday February 3, 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Corcoran has this two-bedroom, 1.5-bath duplex listed at $865,000 ($878 maintenance). The master bedroom is separated on the lower level (with its own half bathroom) and opens up to a spacious private patio. The apartment features a windowed kitchen, great closets, a washer/dryer in the apartment, and a wood burning fireplace. Right on 9th Street, you’ve got the benefit of being close to the trains and buses, but the possible downside of being in a loud area. The coop building is pet friendly.

309 Third Street #3J between 4th & 5th Avenues
Open House: Sunday February 3, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
This three-bedroom, two bath condo offers one of my personal markers of extreme luxury, namely, entry through a private keyed elevator. Imagine! If that sounds like something you’re into, the place will probably continue to impress. The elevator opens to a huge and bright dining and living area, and the home features two balconies, central A/C, a large chef’s kitchen, custom bookshelves and storage, and an en suite bathroom for the master bedroom (pictured above). The building has a large enclosed common courtyard, a fully equipped gym, and a parking garage. Also, you’re right across from JJ Byrne Park and the Old Stone House, which is either great if you have kids or not so great if you don’t like the sound of kids. More importantly, you’re steps away from Culture. What a life. The condo is listed by Corcoran at $1,225,000 ($464 maintenance).
