Park Optics, an optometrist and eyewear store, is now open at 337 5th Avenue, on the corner of 4th Street. They’re already up and running, but they’ll be hosting a grand opening party this weekend so neighbors can stop in to meet them.
We visited yesterday to see the newly renovated space, which had been vacant for some time, and had last housed Italian restaurant Primo Atto, which closed in 2009. It’s quite a change, and the spacious, bright, and comfortable shop and exam room are a good match to the friendly staff.
The front of the shop is where you’ll find the glasses on display, which include brands like Tom Ford, Brooklyn Spectacles, Christian Dior, and more. Manager Sam Tse tells us the green paint and decor reflect their goal of being a green business — which for them means using as little paper as possible, so they’re keeping as many records as they can digital, for instance.
A quick pre-exam and adjustment space is off to the side. While we were there, a man popped in to see about getting his glasses fixed.
A waiting area in the back is available for patients.
Dr. Diana Ma, who has some great reviews for their other location in Flushing, will be available for appointments four days a week, including two weekday afternoons/evenings and on weekends.
Stop by this Sunday, February 16 from 10am-5pm to welcome Dr. Ma, Sam, Safiya, and the rest of the staff to the neighborhood when they host their grand opening celebration, and look out for some grand opening discounts while you’re there.
“We’re so glad to have found this space,” Sam said. “Everyone in the area has been great already, and we’re looking forward to meeting more neighbors!”
