Outdoor Cats Available for Adoption

The cats rescued from Solo bar last month need an outdoor home for the winter. Adelia updates us:

The Solo bar kittens were rescued from a feral colony and we had hoped to socialize all of the seven kittens so they could live in a home with people. However three of them– Sherry, Brandy and Noilly, who are about 5 to 6 months old –may have been too old at the time of rescue to socialize completely and may prefer a life outdoors. Although they enjoy some contact with people they remain frightened and skittish. And because they need time to grow a winter coat, a decision has to be made very soon about whether to set them up in an outdoor life.

If anyone with a yard is interested in having three calico cats, Adelia will provide the winter shelter. Adopters must provide food and fresh water daily and watch for signs of illness or injury. They would need to be confined in the new territory for the first three weeks and we can help with that.

“However, if you’d like to adopt Brandy, Sherry, and Noilly as indoor cats, you would just need to understand that it will take time and attention to socialize them to your home,” says Adelia. “They do show interest in purring and cuddling, once they feel completely secure and comfortable, but it will probably require some effort on the adopter’s part.”

All three are spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative. Brandy and Sherry need to stay together. If outdoors it would be best for all three to be together.

There’s a wealth of information about caring for outdoor cars here, here, here and here.

The four younger Solo Bar cats are Stella, Pauli Girl, Collins and Walker. They will do well indoors. Stella has already been adopted and is very happy. Pauli Girl, Collins and Walker are still available.

If you are interested in providing an outdoor home in your yard, or an indoor home, please contact Adelia. If you just came to this post looking for cute cat pictures and videos, well, there’s this.
