Today we honor our the birthdays of our forefathers, as well as their contributions to this country. We hope you enjoy some relaxation, recreation, and/or family time today (here are some ideas for things to do), and be sure to keep in mind these holiday changes around our area:

Government Offices, Parking, and Sanitation (via nyc.gov)

Presidents’ Day is a local, state and federal holiday and City, State and Federal government offices are closed. Schools are closed.

Sanitation, Mail, and Parking

Post offices are closed, there will be no refuse pickup, and alternate side parking is suspended, though meters are still in effect.

Subways and Buses

The MTA says trains and buses will operate on a Saturday schedule, so the B will not be in service. Check out all changes here.

Libraries

All branches of the Brooklyn Public Library will be closed on Monday.

Banks

Bank of America (515 Ocean Avenue on the corner of Church Avenue) will be closed.

Santander Bank (23 Newkirk Plaza on the corner of Foster Avenue) will be closed.

• Chase Bank (1509 Foster Avenue between Marlborough Road and Newkirk Plaza) will be closed.

• However, TD Bank (210 Prospect Park Southwest between Park Circle and Greenwood Avenue) will be open.
