The NYPD is looking for a man they say attempted to rob the Glenwood Deli at 2816 Glenwood Road (between Flatbush Avenue and Kenilworth Place) over the weekend.

On morning of Saturday, January 4 at about 6:45am, police say the suspect entered the deli and ordered a sandwich. When the 29-year-old store clerk told him the deli section was closed, the suspect walked behind the counter, took out a gun, and demanded money.

The clerk initially complied, then struggled with the suspect when he put his gun down. The suspect then fled the deli. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as 5’6″ with short black hair.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. The NYPD says all calls are confidential.
