NYPD Looking For Suspect In F Train iPhone Snatch

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a woman they say snatched an iPhone from an F train passenger and then ran from the train at the 4th Avenue/9th Street station.

Police say the thief grabbed the phone from the 26-year-old female victim on a Manhattan-bound F train on April 28 just after 8pm, and they note that there were no injuries reported.

The suspect, who can be seen in the video above, is described as black woman who is about 5’6″-5’8″ tall, with long braided hair, who was last seen wearing a green baseball cap, blue jeans, a dark-colored, waist-length jacket, and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting your tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. Police say all calls are confidential.
