Now Closed: Cheeburger Cheeburger

Another 7th Avenue storefront is vacant, now that Cheeburger Cheeburger, the chain located at 222 7th Avenue on the corner of 3rd Street, has closed up shop.

The closing seems pretty abrupt — they were posting to Facebook as recently as Sunday. But the windows are papered over and this sign posted in the front door says it’s done and gone.

This location opened in 2011, and it’s unclear if it’s connected, but about a month ago FiPS heard from a tipster about signs posted on the 3rd Avenue side of the restaurant which were about a partial vacate order on the premises — the Department of Buildings notes that applies to the yard, though scaffolding has since come down from around it.

Add this to the long and growing list of vacancies along 7th Avenue.
