It’s looking for certain at this point that the East Coast will get slammed with a pre-Thanksgiving Nor’easter, with the height of the bad weather tomorrow–the busiest travel day of the year. Winter Storm Boreas has already left at least 14 people dead in western parts of the US, and resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights.

An hourly forecast shows this morning’s grey skies turning into light precipitation in our area around 4pm today, with heavier showers starting at 9pm and wind picking up around midnight. While the recent chill will break tomorrow (there’s a high of 59°F) and rain is set to taper off by the late afternoon, there will still be plenty of wind and clouds.

Airlines are currently waiving their fees to reschedule flights around the storm, and it’s tough to say at this point whether the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons will get off the ground this year.

Is Winter Storm Boreas getting in the way of your Thanksgiving plans, be they to travel or just to continue your tradition of watching the parade with family? Or are you hustling to get out of town quicker, and not too worried about the other stuff?
