- Dan Bodah–who you may know from local WFMU Airborne Events–has just released his first chapbook, Eyes & Roots, which features 25 haikus plus other works. The book was published by California-based Many Moons Press.
- Local band Elaphant (above, who filmed a few weeks back at Sycamore for Breakthru Radio‘s Here and There) will be celebrating a few things tonight at their 7:30pm Mercury Lounge concert–not only the release of their new EP, but also being voted The Deli Magazine‘s NYC Artist of the Month.
- Musician Gabriel Kahane is also dropping his new record, The Ambassador, and has spoken to NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and Paste Magazine in anticipation of its release. The album centers around Gabriel’s birthplace of LA (he was raised in NY). You can also catch him this Thursday, June 5 at Rockwood Music Hall or this Friday, June 6 at Littlefield.
- A teaser trailer has just been released for One World Symphony‘s new Hannibal: A Serial Opera, which is based on The Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris, as well as TV show Hannibal. Local composer/conductor Sung Jin Hong has previously created an opera based on Breaking Bad, which debuted earlier this year. Check back with One World Symphony for more on the full release of Hannibal: A Serial Opera.
While everyone listed above is in a creative field, we’re interested in all of our neighbors’ accomplishments. If a paper wrote you up or would you like to share a new project of your own, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll share it with the neighborhood.
