Over two years after Superstorm Sandy hit, federal money for repairs is still trickling in to Brooklyn residents and businesses damaged by its wind and water. The Brooklyn Navy Yard is the latest to benefit.

Over $1.68 million — $1,687,002.30 to be exact — in funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been allocated to help the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) permanently repair Berth 6B between Dry-docks #2 and #4, which were damaged as a direct result Sandy’s wind and landfall.

BNYDC President/CEO David Ehrenberg said in a release that the funds “will help us improve our infrastructure so that an even more resilient Navy Yard can house businesses with good paying jobs.”
