Name Change Coming To Former Mohawk Tavern

Last week, we posted about Mohawk Tavern–the new bar in the former Crossroads Cafe space (1241A Prospect Avenue at Reeve Place) from the owners of Lowlands and Skylark. The bar’s name became a point of disagreement among readers and Windsor Terrace neighbors, some of whom felt it was inappropriate.

The partners behind the establishment have heard the community’s concerns, and though co-owner Paul Hammil says that they haven’t settled on a new name yet, they have removed the Mohawk Tavern sign from out front and are in the process of figuring out what to call it instead.
