More Trees Come Down, While Others Are Planted
Anyone else notice a lot more tree care trucks and wood chippers in the area recently? David Scaringe spotted this giant tree being cut down yesterday on Marlborough between Dorchester and Ditmas.
As some trees come down, we’ve seen more and more new trees planted to replace ones around the neighborhood that were toppled by Hurricane Sandy. This one above replaces a big old London Plane tree that fell across Glenwood at Rugby.
We’re outside of the Parks Department’s recommended planting seasons, though, so we hope these new trees last. For tips on how to care for a newly-planted street tree on your block, click here.
