Just about one year ago, the restaurant space at 427 7th Avenue (between 14th and 15th Streets) was up for rent,  even before La Botaneria called it quits in early August. But now, it appears that we’ll soon be getting a new coffee/bakery/pastry place.

The white butcher paper in the window says “Coming Soon — Les Deux Amis.” And while we don’t know how soon, this could put questions to rest about this piece of real estate.

The former 24-seat restaurant was known for botanas, the snacks that are served with drinks at bars and in homes in Mexico City. We’ll be jumping continents and countries to a French cafe.

With Couleur Café little more than a block away (435 7th Avenue, between 14th and 15th Streets), the addition of Les Deux Amis could make this the go to area for delicious French coffee and pastries.

Right now, we don’t have website or social media details for Les Deux Amis, but we’ll update you as we get closer to its opening.

Meanwhile, Vive la France!
