Cortelyou Road standby Mimi’s Hummus (1209 Cortelyou Road between Westminster and Argyle Roads) may be best known for its Shakshuka Eggs or, well, its namesake chickpea dip, but have you tried their Iraqi Sandwich?

The meal-in-a-pita ($8) was just named one of Brooklyn Magazine’s 20 Best Sandwiches in 20 Brooklyn Neighborhoods, a major feat considering how many delicious sandwiches are available around town (something we know from carbo-loading experience). The magazine says:

The Iraqi sandwich melds a layer of hummus, oily, melt-in-your-mouth eggplant, slices of mild potato, perfectly boiled eggs, and a sprinkling of cilantro for the ultimate Mediterranean treat. Accompanied by some of the best pickles you’ll ever have, this is elevated Middle Eastern street [food] at its finest.

So, do you agree with BK Mag’s ranking, do you think there’s another sandwich in Ditmas Park that deserves the acclaim–or are you just not ready to choose?
