Please join us in welcoming Shannon Geis to the Ditmas Park Corner team. You may have noticed her byline on a few stories recently, and you’ll see it more often now — as of this week, she is the new editor of the site.

Shannon is moving over to DPC after having covered the neighborhoods on the other side of the park for us as editor of Park Slope Stoop and South Slope News. She’s stepping in as Anna is abandoning us for an out-of-state move (thanks for all you did for the neighborhood, Anna, we’ll miss you!).

Shannon has been living in Brooklyn for five years, working as a a freelance reporter and multimedia producer covering neighborhoods across the borough. She recently completed her Master’s degree in Oral History at Columbia University.

When she’s not reporting, you can find her reading 20th century fiction, listening to the radio, or crocheting hats — plus, she’s a runner, so you may have even crossed paths with her already while out doing laps of Prospect Park.

Please reach out to her with story ideas, news tips, questions, anything, at editor@ditmasparkcorner.com or 347-829-5978. And if you see her around the neighborhood, say hello!

Everything else stays the same — reach Ditmas Park Corner on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and be sure to subscribe to our daily newsletter to get the day’s stories delivered right to your inbox.
