Mayor Announces Gas Rationing To Continue Through Friday

Mayor Bloomberg announced that the alternating odd-even licence plate system of buying gas will remain in place through Friday, according to a report in the New York Post.

The extension was enacted because 30 percent of the city’s gas stations are still closed. The mayor hopes to avoid long lines at the pump during the expected surge of motorists traveling during the holidays.

The gas rationing plan, which has been in effect since November 9, has already ended in New Jersey and Long Island.

  1. I don’t think we really need gas rationing anymore since most of the gas stations have gas. Besides the ones out of power, no gas stations are actually out of gas or running low anymore.

Aside from that… no gas station has really taken the gas rationing seriously so far. They just fill you up regardless if your plate. No cops even enforce the law.

  2. LAW lol…oh please stop with this non sense….most laws are made to rip people off financially and cause inconvenience

  3. How on earth does this law rip you off financially? This caused inconvenience, but something had to be done to alleviate the lines.
