Masked Men Score $22,000 From Burglaries At Peggy O’Neill’s, Popeye’s In Coney Island

Cops are hunting for a pair of burglars who broke into two Coney Island businesses last month, scoring approximately $22,000 in cash.

On Saturday, January 17, the duo shattered the front glass door of Peggy O’Neill’s at 1904 Surf Avenue just beore 5:00am. They rummaged through the property, eventually making of with approximately $12,000.

Nine days later they struck again, hitting Popeye’s at 1220 Surf Avenue at approximately 2am. This time they busted in through the rear door, and then headed straight to the management office. Once inside, they spent two minutes rifling through filing cabinets and the rest of the office, pulling $10,000 from a cashier’s drawer and leaving the place a wreck.

Security video recorded their path through the fried chicken franchise and their search through the office.

The suspects are described by police only as two males. They wore masks during the crimes.
