Manhole Explosion Injures a Man on Avenue H
About a dozen Con Edison trucks are parked along Avenue H near East 17th Street, the site of a manhole explosion earlier today that seriously injured a man.
The FDNY tells us that at about 11am, a 50-year-old man suffered an injury to head after the manhole exploded. They say he was transported to Kings County Hospital in serious but stable condition. A worker at the scene said the man was a ConEd worker.
