Man Suspected Of Eight Home Burglaries In Sheepshead Area Over Three-Week Period
Cops are looking for a man they say burglarized eight homes in just two and a half weeks around the Sheepshead Bay area.
In most of the break-ins, the suspect came in through rear, side or basement windows in the middle of the night, rummaged through the house, and made off with loose cash or electronics. Six of his targets were hit in just two separate days.
The burglary spree kicked off on March 25, when he entered a home on East 19th Street and Avenue R at approximately 1am. He fled and took nothing.
He struck again on March 28 and 12:30am, on East 26th Street and Avenue P, entering through a rear window. He swiped an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy phone, watch, $100, a laptop and an iPad. This was one of his two larger hauls.
His first busy night, on which he hit three homes, was March 31.
First he broke into a home on West 7th Street and Lake Place through a rear window around midnight. He ended up taking nothing.
Within an hour or so, he struck again on East 23rd Street and Avenue P, again entering through a rear window and stealing just $60.
A home near that same intersection was next, at approximately 5:20am, when the suspect broke in through a side door – again fleeing with nothing.
This past Friday, April 10, he hit three more homes – all near the intersection of Crawford Avenue and East 7th Street – in one night.
He began at 3am, entering into one home’s dining room through a side window, and making off with several Apple products, credit cards, a wallet and $200.
At 5:15 am, he crawled through the basement window of another home, swiping a Dell laptop and earings.
Then at 7:05am, he again went through a basement window. He took nothing – but the homeowner’s surveillance system took a clear recording of his face.
