Man Shot And Killed While Answering His Door

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed as he answered a knock on his door early Saturday morning, the police report.

Police responded to a call reporting a shooting in the eighth floor hallway at 111 Bridge Street in the Farragut Houses at approximately 2:10am on July 22. When they arrived to the scene, they found Carnell Victor unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his neck, according to the NYPD.

EMS transported Victor to Brooklyn Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The motive behind the shooting is unclear and no arrests have been made yet, said a police representative. According to the police, Victor was a member of the Bloods gang and has a record of 17 prior arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
