Man Fatally Stabbed On Neptune Avenue After Prior Dispute

A 31-year-old man was fatally stabbed this morning in Brighton Beach over a past robbery incident, said cops.

Police found the victim with a stab wound in his chest at the corner of Neptune Avenue and Brighton 4th Street, on Thursday, July 20 at 6:19am.

He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives said that the stabbing was an escalation of a prior dispute over a robbery. A 36-year-old man was taken in for questioning, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Update 7/24: The deceased was later identified by police as Brighton resident Lekarius Thomas. In addition, suspect Ernest Dubinsky, 36, has been arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, said cops.
