Man Caught On Camera Stealing Woman’s Purse Around Foster & Roger Avenues

After a man was caught on camera snatching a woman’s purse as she walked with her 5-year-old son at Foster and Roger Avenues this past Wednesday, July 15, the NYPD is turning to the public for help finding the suspect.

According to the police, the suspect approached the 23-year-old woman around 3:30pm, grabbed her purse and fled eastbound on Foster Avenue. The purse contained her Samsung Galaxy 5 cellphone and wallet.

Police described the suspect as a black male who is in his mid-30s to early 40, about 5-feet-11-inches to 6 feet tall and between 175 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, black baseball hat, ripped blues jeans, and black and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s crime stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the crime stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
