Make Ditmas Park Green

This Saturday, March 9 is the 32nd Making Brooklyn Bloom at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, where you can check out workshops that include Making Seed Bombs, Resourceful Rooftop Containers, and Save Heirloom Seeds Like a Farmer. The inspiration will take you through the planting season.

Making Brooklyn Bloom is free for anyone — beginning and master gardeners — who shows up with a copy of the brochure. Registration is at 10am. For more information or to preregister, email greenbridge@bbg.org.

Additionally, the Greenest Block in Brooklyn will have an information table at Making Brooklyn Bloom, and you may have an opportunity to sign up your home, business, or block and borough-wide competition. Once you’re signed up, they’ll offer tips and support throughout the growing season. The first lucky 10 community groups registered can take advantage of specialized workshops with GBB.

Last year Ditmas Park won three 1st places in The Greenest Block in Brooklyn competition:

 Coretlyou Road Merchants Association, Commercial
 Friends of Newkirk Plaza, Commercial
 Brooklyn Hearth, Greenest Storefront

We’d love to see Ditmas Park make an equally impressive showing this year.
